We have three types of guidelines here at astada.com please make sure to read them.

These Guidelines will ensure that the site runs smoothly and that there are no miscommunications between Contest Holders and Designers and that astada.com is a nice place to be.

General Guidelines

This information is for all who use www.astada.com.

Keep it Clean

Treat everyone with respect and in a professional manner.  Obscene, vulgar, sexually-oriented, hateful, or threatening communications will not be tolerated

Contest Holder Guidelines

This information is directed to the Contest Holders.  Please read through this section thoroughly before posting any contests.

Prize Money

It is important that you set a fair prize for the job you want done. This is the only way to get the best designers to work for you. When you create a contest, you will see the minimum and maximum prizes currently being offered.  If you want to get the best designers to join your contest, then it is a good idea to set the prize as high as you can.  Remember once you have chosen a winner, you are obligated to pay the prize you offer.  Do not offer any more than you can pay when it comes down to it.

Description

When you create a contest on www.astada.com, it is very important that you give as many details as possible.  Perhaps even providing a link to a couple of different designs you like will provide the Designers with a better idea of what you are looking for.  Remember that the Designers will not know what you want if you do not tell them.  Communication is key to a successful Contest Holder/Designer relationship.

Feedback

Feedback is a very crucial part of a successful design contest. The Designers need feedback to understand what they can do better. It is important that you give feedback to the Designers, even if you dislike their design. We have decided that the Contest Holders will be required to provide some form of feedback to every design in the listed contest. If you have not given any feedback within 48 hours of the first entry in a contest you are holding, we will shut down the contest.  We do not want the Designers to use their time on creating designs for contests that are ultimately abandoned.

Contest Won

When you have declared a winner on your contest, you are obligated to pay the Designer. The Designer will not send the design to you before he or she has received the money for the completed design.

Designer Guidelines

This information is directed to the Designers.  Please read through this section thoroughly before joining any contests.

Think

We have done everything we can to ensure that you do not join abandoned contests.  We will monitor contests everyday. As soon as we see a contest in which the Contest Holder is not active or does not give you feedback, we will shut down the contest.

Can i contact a Contest Holder?

To ensure fair contests, you as a designer may not contact the contest holder in any way besides Feedback, PM and Contest board. Meaning no e-mail, MSN. IM ect. while the contest is in progress. This is to ensure fair contests.  

Other designers

If you need to contact other Designers, please use the private message function.  Please do not use the contest discussion area.

Be Professional

If a contest holder does not like your design, please be professional and keep a professional tone.  Being respectful is of utmost importance to both parties.  Feedback from the Contest Holder is important so that he or she receives the kind of design they are looking for.  Communication is of utmost importance here.

Read the full brief

It is imperative that you read the full brief. This will ensure that you create a design that will follow the requirements that the Contest Holder is looking for.

Read the feedback

Please read the feedback from the designers before you do anything more, if they don't like a entry at all, then there is no reason to upload 5 versions of it at one time.

Copyright

It is extremely important that you only submit designs that are 100% self made. Do not use anyone else’s art work.  Copyright infringement will not be tolerated and proper steps will be taken if it is found that a Designer used a design that belonged to someone else.  Copying another Designer’s work because they received positive feedback from the Contest Holder will not be tolerated.

Won a contest?

To ensure that you will be paid for your work, please do not send your winning design to the Contest Holder before he or she has paid the winning prize.
