I use my printer a lot for print design purposes and yesterday I went to buy new ink cartridges. Boy, are they expensive! However, for the first time I noticed ink cartridge refills, I never used them before, looks like you fill the cartridges yourself, they certainly costed much less, are they worth a try?

sure they are, i have done it a couple of times with my ink printer, with my laserprinter i just buy a new one, because the ink thing costs 75% of a brand new laser printer :-)

I use a laser printer so there is less need for frequent refilling. Further I don't have much work to do with my printer.

I have my cartridges professionally refilled. I tried a couple of those refill-it-yourself kits, and all I ever reliably ended up with was a mess and a cartridge with a hole in it.

I use an old Epson Colour Stylus 600, and I buy the compatible cartridges black = £0.91 and colour = £1.67

I do use the do it yourself refills if I have the time but other wise I just shell out the money for the ink cartridges themselves. What does it run to have them professionally refiled. Can you save any money there?
