How long to you think does it take to have a website designed?

It depends upon the skill of the programmer.The website must have attractive designing, easy navigation capabilities to attract more users.

Talking about time, mine was supposed to be ready in 4 weeks but it is already 5 months! It all depends for really basic one like a business website just talking about your business with contact info I would say 1 month. Others as much as 6 months!

One absolutely must have something interesting to your market, be easy to navigate, and somewhat interactive to draw new visitors, and keep the interest of established visitors.

I once hired a relatively unknown team to make a simple CSS web site, being as how it was a relatively low priority site, and while I expected it to take them a month or two, it took them 4 years, and still they weren't done with it.

Needless to say, I am doing it myself now, as I'm done waiting. *chuckle*

A simple, non-custom, straight-out-of-the-box template web site should take a reputable designer about a week.

The time frame in designing and building a site obviously depends on how large the site is and what the requirements are. The best content is obviously unique and well written content from a SEO point of view.
