Windows Icons Blow!

I really really hate the fact that Microsoft windows will not use icons made in the png format because it is so much prettier than the jpeg or gif format.

They must have a reason for that. I guess it may be because the png files are not supported extensively in Microsoft.

Icons need to be workable in the vast majority of environments. I'm not not sure everyone can access png. That may be part of the reason that they aren't utilized more.
