When should it not be used?
I can understand how some companies, lke those of fashion designers, use flash to create a total experience by drawing the viewer in with glam.

However, there must be times when using Flash is completely inappropriate for a website, based on its purpose.

When should Flash be completely avoided?

A good rule i always follow when talking about using flash is the following. I aks my self a couple of questions.

Can this Not be done with something else than flash?
Is it really nessary to use flash for the useres to get what we want to tell?

And if both answers to it is yes, then i will make it in flash. But many times you can use javascript or something else to make what you want in flash. I think.

Flash programming has to be avoided for the sites which has low bandwidth capacity. Flash are only suitable for high speed and high technical websites.

I agree with the above poster. My first impression was that Flash isn't a good choice when someone has an old computer or sluggish bandwidth.

I think a good "insurance" consideration may be to offer a "skip flash" button for those who don't want to wait on the presentation.
