Apart from having provided with a product and the concept, what are the other basics of designing required to produce a class design apart from others?

What about the skill set in order to pull the project off? Otherwise you are going to need to outsource all of your work and then you are not really a designer, you are a middle man.

I say that the basics of design are the meaning and the purpose of the design. All designs portray something and that is what we should remember when we are designing something.

The first three things I think about when I hear the words basics of design is line shape and texture. I am also a big fan for making design that has depth using the first three combined with shadows.
