It has to take years for some of the programmers I have seen to master the skill sets they do. I wonder how long (on average) it takes just to be a little good, right now I am far from that and still learning as I go.

Programming is not that hard if you have an idea about it already. The procedure of language programming is the same with all programs and the codes are the ones that changed.

Learning how to program itself is not that hard. It is like learning the language of a computer. A year of learning it will help you understand the basics on how to program.

It depends on the individual itself. You just got to have dedication to what you are doing. Usually it is group into activities, which you are going to do in a time scale. So, in a semester you could be learning a lot or you none at all if you donâ

It depends on the person. I know a little, but I'm not a programmer per se. It's just not part of my every day living. I know people who are experts at it and learned it very quickly.

To me SQL parameters are one of the most difficult parts of programing. I want to tend shorten them if i get the chance. I would rather be working in corel making a design rather than try to program a long line of parameters. Though some say there is a real art in programing too.

I can think of three amazing programmers off the top of my head, one is a friends mom and another that really stands out is a guy that has just picked up and learned everything in life super quick. I mean he could spit out some of the craziest work in half the time as most guys.

One day, I want to be that good, but its gonna take sometime.

That friend of yours is really a quick learner then. Anyway, programming is just understanding how the computer works. A person also needs a good logical thinking if he or she wants to be a programmer in just a short period of time.

I think it greatly varies from individual to individual as I know some self taught people who in a short period of time have mastered a particular programming language much quicker than those who have studied it in the university for years. I personally grasped HTML fairly quickly and a few months after I had finished a course I took on it, seemed to have grasped it better than my original instructor.
