Inanimate objects
I am having a hard time learning how to take pictures of inanimate objects. I've seen some amazing pictures that others have taken but mine always end up boring and non-dimensional. Any advice?

The first thing you want to do is experiment with lighting. Personally I say turn the flash off entirely. Leave the object still and move the lighting. Once you find a lighting situation you like then you can go back and move the object. What you want is ambient lighting and not artificial lighting. The second thing you always want to do is use a tripod. You will be surprised the difference this can make.

I don't own a tripod but I guess I could look into it. I do agree that not using a flash and using natural light makes a big difference. Thanks for the suggestions. Anyone else?
