Will Flash slow down your website when used?
Is it true that sometimes this will cause your page to take more time to load?

It totally depends on the flash file size, but many times flash files tend to be a little big and that will ofcause low down the load time.

I think the same question has been asked in the design sub forum. Guys it will be good if we can check for the threads that we wish to create for their presence already. Yes flash contents will take up time to get loaded and will eat up the bandwidth.

yes, I agree that flash will take a bit more time to download.

The reason for slowness of a flash website is its bandwidth required is much large than the conventional ones.

Its is not only the bandwidth issue. The flash engine is rather slow in comparison to html and java.

so I take it that most of you feel that using flash will slow down your page.

I have found it best to limit the amount of Flash on websites, especially where sales are important.

Most shoppers want to get right to the pages with the goods and will leave a site if it takes too long to load.

Personally for me, if the flash design is cool, no problem I'll enjoy it for sure. Sometimes I am patient waiting for the site to upload :) sometimes not :( so it depends on the person.
