Has the financial crisis set anyone back in their online ventures? I was worried for a little while, but it seems to be back to normal now.

Back to normal? What are you talking about :-) it is worse than ever now, stocks are still going down and the revenue in the company i work with is down 75% this month.. So not really back to normal. :-)

I don't think financial crisis had crippled the online industry.Google had posted huge profits in this month brushing out any fears of economic crisis effects on online industry.

Google is a special company they live by clicks, just because we are in a financial crises, then people don't stop surfing on the net, so you can't use that information for anything and sertanly not say anything general about the online world because of the google money making maschine.

the economy has not gotten any better in the last few months. I don't think Google stock can be a good indication of how the economy is doing.
the Dow Jones, on the other hand, is.

Actually Google is a great indicator of how online businesses are doing. If people are taking out more advertising then they are looking into other ways of making revenue. Many companies have been resistant to establishing an online presence who will be forced to do so if they wish to survive in the new world. This crisis could be a huge boon for many of us due to the opportunities opening up.

I doubt Google or Ebay is suffering, but finances in other arenas are for sure. I cashed out an IRA a year ago due to financial hardship and didn't feel to good about it at the time. Now I'm thinking that if I had kept the money in, it would have been so much less today. You just never know...

I gotta go along with the others --- back to normal? I think not. We're a long way from normal. It's going to be a long time, if ever, that we're 'normal' again.

Ebay sales are down big time. They are for me at least. I'd say my sales are down around 70% over six months ago. People just aren't spending money on non-essential things these days.

Since so many factors contribute to financial insecurity, the situation is bound to improve in a short span of time. It is a viscious cycle.
